There is a monument of the middle of the XIX century to the west of the Jami complex. This is the Kamol-Kazy madrasah, a Muslim higher educational institution that includes a study room (darshona), small residential cells (hujras) and the Aivan mosque. In general, they make up an asymmetrical courtyard composition. Special attention should be paid to the entrance part (darvozakhon), highlighted by a decoratively decorated portal with cylindrical towers at the corners and towering domed lanterns. As in the palace of Khudoyarkhan, only the entrance part is richly decorated here. The portal is entirely covered with mosaic tile ornament, where the geometric pattern is combined with Arabic inscriptions. A two-tiered volume was erected behind the portal, the upper part of which, covered by a four-sided dome, served as an educational room. The balcony of the darshona, facing the main facade, is a kind of canopy over the entrance to a square courtyard (20 X 20 m), surrounded by hujras and a mosque. The latter is a four-column, east-facing iwan with a beam ceiling. The interiors are decorated with ganch, and the exterior walls, lined with burnt bricks, as in many other public buildings, are left without plaster.
Kamol-Kazy Madrasah
The architecture of the Kamol-Kazy madrasah reflects the folk traditions of Kokand masters. After restoration, the building is used as a hotel for tourists.
